New Post-Treatment Process for Reduced Gold Use in Electronic Connectors
Cranston, RI, USA - Technic Inc. has announced the commercial release of Auroguard NP-12, a non-aqueous post-treatment process for improved wear-resistance and functionality of gold electroplated connectors.
The Auroguard NP-12 post-treatment provides a protective coating on the surface of gold plated contacts used in connector applications, imparting a significant improvement in corrosion and wear-resistance. Use of Auroguard NP-12 improves gold deposit quality and enables application of a reduced gold thickness without any decrease in deposit performance.
Technic’s Auroguard NP-12 chemistry is non-flammable and halogen-free. The coating is thermally stable and able to withstand significant thermal exposures (up to 260°C). Auroguard NP-12 represents a significant alternative to generic lubricants commonly used in the industry.
Auroguard NP-12 is the latest release in Technic’s Goldeneye gold reduction technology platform.
