Pretreatments for Industrial Finishing Applications

Technic supplies a full range of pretreatment chemistry for industrial finishing applications including cleaners, activators and etchants. 

Technic cleaners include soak, ultrasonic and electrolytic cleaners used in the pretreatment phase to prepare and degrease base metals, making sure they are free of contaminants (such as oils, tarnish and oxides) and ready for electroplating. Technic's advanced solutions are tailored for specific types of metals including brass, cast iron, copper and copper alloys, iron, steel, zinc die cast, and others.

Activators and etchants are used for pickling and/or activation of the metal surface prior to electroplating. While activators are typically used to activate the surface and improve metal adhesion in the following plating phase, etchants can be utilized to etch the metal surface, thus removing the first layer of metal, if required by the process. Technic's activators and etchants are designed to treat a large selection of metals such as zinc die cast, leaded brass, beryllium copper, aluminium, nickel, silver, tin, lead, steel, brass, copper, and passive nickel among others.
